Reiki

Reiki is a non-invasive Japanese healing technique that works with the chakras and endocrine system, improving the natural flow of energy around the body. Reiki is a powerful tool for accelerating healing and promoting wellbeing by working on both an emotional and physical level, by clearing blocked and stagnant energy in the body.

Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called ‘energy healing’. As reiki practitioners we use a technique called palm healing, or ‘hands on healing’, through this, universal energy is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.

Reiki works on different levels, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual in order to balance the body and mind. It can help to reduce pain, help to cope with difficulties, emotional stress and improve overall wellbeing. Reiki can also help to aid relaxation, alleviate anxiety and assist in the body’s natural healing processes.

Our Reiki practitioners are qualified to Reiki Master practitioner level of the Usui system of natural healing.

We practice from various lovely locations across London and West Essex when you contact us for an appointment we will advise the closest location to you.

What to expect in a Reiki session.

Before the session begins, there is a short consultation where we will discuss reiki, an explanation of reiki and your reasons for seeking the treatment and how the treatment will work.

In a peaceful and relaxing setting, you lie down fully clothed on the reiki bed, or in comfortable chair. The practitioner will then lightly place their hands on or over specific areas on the head, limbs and torso for a few minutes at a time.

If there is a particular injury, the hands may be held just above the injury or wound.

Whilst the practitioner holds their hands lightly on, or over the body, the transfer of energy healing takes place.

The session will last around 60 minutes, during this time you may feel a warm tingling sensation, or light heat, you may fall asleep during the session, or you may just feel totally relaxed. The most common feelings during and after a reiki treatment are of the release of stress and deep relaxation.

Following the treatment, the practitioner will then discuss with you how you feel and any feelings or sensations you may have felt.

After a reiki treatment, we suggest that you drink plenty of water and if at all possible, give yourself some time and space, rather than rushing straight back into work, or the usual structure of a busy day.

Please note that reiki is not an alternative treatment for medical issues, it is an adjunctive therapy that can help and support healing and increase a feeling of wellbeing.
